A co-worker of my husbands had a piece of equipment explode in his face and hands while working. The explosion broke his nose, sinus cavity and cracked his cheek bones. There were also chemical burns. He's had two facial reconstructive surgeries so far. Please send Reiki to Mike, and his family.

I haven't asked Mike for his permission to send Reiki. I know that he and his wife are Reiki Practioners. Mike and his wife work in the factory where my husband works, saving up to start there own Reiki business. I thought that because they did Reiki my requesting healing was appropriate. That was alittle presumptuos on my part, perhaps? What would be the appropriate thing to do in this situation if I am unable to get his permission?

phoenixrising,

- I have to agree that it is a bit presumptuous to assume that these folks, Reiki practitioners that they may be, would automatically agree to a lot of energy from folks they do not know
- the appropriate thing to do if they do not give permission?? That is each person's conscience
- for myself? No permission, no energy work
- and I accept whatever Karma accrues
- and those who send without permission will also accrue the appropriate Karma
- hope this helps

As for sending reiki without permission, I'm very mindful of this. Whenever I feel the reiki 'tingling' I wonder if I'm sending without intent, and where its going. This recent conversation brings that to mind.
If its not my intent to send, and I feel it 'going' does this mean that it is? Or is it that this 'going' feeling that I have pertains only to me at this given time?
I have a friend who I sometimes 'send' to. At request, and who I 'recieve' on same. But sometimes, I've been typing(as now) and the tingling starts. He's been good enough to tell me that he 'recieved' reiki from my mails, or words to such. It wasn't my intent at the time to do this. Having not at the time asked permission.
So the question stands. I mean, I heard that if someone is in need, then the reiki flows as needed, without concious intent in some cases. And in those cases, I'd gather that the someone on recieving end isn't 'asking'.
Whats your opinion?
Sorry for hijacking the thread OP.
I wish your friend well.
Nameste.

Firekeeper,
I totally agree with you. I was coming from a loving place but it was still inappropriate. For the most part I try to approach Reiki with my head first, not my heart. Apparently I needed to relearn the lesson. Thank you for your insight. I did get Mike and his wife Dawn's permission to do healing for both of them. She is a Reiki 1 and she told my husband that when she does Reiki on her husbamd that her overwhelming emotions get in the way. I can definitely see where she is coming from. She has asked for Reiki to be sent by any who wish to send it.
Namaste~
