Saturday, May 5th

If you can't join us in the walk, you can join us in the fight by making a pledge or donation For Women. Your pledge will help fund The Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative (PNWHI) of the Actors Fund, helping women faced with health related issues inducing cancer, with support, crisis intervention and assistance in navigating the medical system. Every pledge will help bring us one step closer to a cure.

The Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative is a program of The Actors Fund, the 125 year old , nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment. The fund is a safety net, providing programs and services for those who are in need, crisis or transition. Hundreds of women each year rely on the PNWHI for resources and support in the face of traumatic illness, injury or violence. PNWHI provides access to counselors; support services; healthcare; diagnostic, preventive and mental health services; substance abuse treatment; and emergency assistance to women who work in any facet of entertainment and the performing arts, many of them compromised by lack of health insurance.

It is estimated that one in eight American women will develop invasive breast cancer at some point in her life. In 2006, 273,560 women lost their lives to various forms of cancer. Behind this staggering statistic is the face of a woman who needs your help- a friend, a mother, a sister, a wife. The need is great and that is why we would like to ask for your help.

" This is a cause that is close to my heart. As an actor, when I did not have health insurance, I used The Phyllis Newman Women's Heath Initiative in order to receive health care. I also have lost 2 of my dear aunts, Roseanna McCullough-West (my heart) to Leukemia in 1999 and Annette McCullough-Conover (my spice) to Breast cancer & Lung cancer in 2003. I run this race..for them." Jeanine
