DESCRIPTION: This class is designed for those who have never danced before. BACHATA is a romantic style of dance from the Dominican Republic. Growing from Bolero and being influenced by Merengue with sensual hip and body movements. The steps are simple moving back and forth and sideways with accentuated hips and improvised patterns. You will learn the following: the basic step pattern, giving and receiving turns, proper body positioning and hands, footwork styling options, several turn combinations, hip isolations, music theory.
