*Dr. Mayra Rodriguez Giovannelli is a Master and Teacher of the Usui, Tibetan & Karuna systems of Reiki and is regarded as Latin America's most prominent healers. She is also a Medical Qigong Healer and a Kabalistic Healer who specializes in cancer care though energy management and was the pioneer of a Pilot Research Program for cancer patients at a hospital in Puerto Rico, the first in the island's medical history. In 2004 Mayra Rodriguez Giovannelli was nominated for, and won, two prestigious awards from the World Health Organization in an event sponsored by UNESCO. This organization conferred an Honorary Doctorate for the advancement of CAM therapies in the treatment of cancer, and the International Merit for Educational Excellence. In 2005 she received two nominations by the WHO: "The International Award for Excellence in Reiki and an International Honorary Doctorate in Reiki. She received both awards, making her the first professional in CAM history to have two Honorary Doctorates. She has taught at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Campus, has been actively training medical doctors, and her courses have been selected to be part of the Continuing Education Program of the Medical Doctors and Surgeon’s Association of Puerto Rico. Most recently Rodriguez teamed up with the American Cancer Society to integrate Energy Medicine in the management of the disease. In addition she lectures both in Puerto Rico and New York, regularly participates in radio and T.V. shows and has collaborated with a great number of prestigious publications.
