Description

Tentative TITLE: Zagat rated male seeks companionship

NYC: "emaciated and socially awkward" bookseller originally from the west (NJ) hasn't found
time to make any friends "because he's new in town " (4 years). strongly interested in
someone to "hang out with" and maybe even "possibly more." hobbies include buddhism,
vegetarianism, cynicism, and the monarch notes to "all those existential philosophers" who
use "really complicated words." tacitly admits to enjoying grand hollywood historical epics
but can "bullshit his way" through a conversation about "fellini and that sullen swedish chap"
with the best of them. former girlfriends describe "he just always seems to be right about
everything " and "yeah, like it's really sexy when he drones on about some anthropological
divinity theme he read in a joseph campbell article and passes it off as his own insights."
his ideal mate is something like a "low maintence dorothy parker" who can pull off those
"cute hipster glasses" but won't make him shave or "schlep ceramics from the pottery barn"
on a sunday afternoon.

Questionaire

General questions
What do you do for a living?
Bookseller.

What religions or philosophies of life do you believe in?
That, as they say, the most absolute knowledge man can attain is that life is meaningless. This in itself, at least in theory, can be incredibly inspiring and liberating; to not become too attached to a particular set of beliefs or ideas.

What are your favorite books?
"Camus can do but Sartre is smarter"

The Dharma Bums & Cannery Row have to be among my favorites of all times. The more that I read the more it becomes apparent that the reaction has less to do with the content of the pages and more to do with the eyes of the person reading. I've been bored to tears but some of the greats and enamored with some of the trashiest.

What type of books do you like to read?
Biographies, history, personal accounts of travel, chinese poetry and religious text.

What type of movies or television shows do you watch?
I really like Woody Allen and Truffaut stuff. Don't watch much TV except for the Food Network and Sesame Street.

What kind of music do you like?
Anything that I can understand the words to. I can't remember the last time I turned on the radio and could actually hear what the singer was saying. I think most vocals are either mumbled or covered up by the loud thumping of equipment. So in that vain, most folk and jazz vocalist, the great NON SINGERS of our time (Bob Dylan, Louis Amstrong, etc etc.)

What type of foods do you like to eat?
I'm a failed, sickly Vegan.

Do you consider yourself to be more of a conservative or liberal person?
I would be outright revolutionary were it not for my proclivty towards laziness and fear of large social gatherings.

What are some of your interests?
Developing large grandeoise plans for my future.

What achievements in your life are you most proud of?
I once ate ane entire large pizza pie in one sitting.
