General questions
What do you do for a living?
Well, dear friends, as it just hit me a few days ago that I am unemployed, now is a good time to update my profile a bit! :)
In August 2003, I decided to leave my home-based business of 11 years. I have realized that it is time that my work and my life's path become one and the same. The decision to leave my job was a long time coming as I have felt disatisfied with this aspect of my life for quite some time. Now that I have made this change I can begin to focus my time and energy on this next leg of my life's journey.
What religions or philosophies of life do you believe in?
I believe in anything that puts humanity and our love for one another at the highest priority. I was raised without religious teachings of any kind, had a singularly life-changing vision at 18, and began to embrace God and Jesus. I call myself a Christian because I believe in Jesus Christ but I do not hold to organized religion because I believe that they are made by man, not God. I believe that all faiths lead to one higher power and do not accept any exclusionary ideas based on "faith".
What are your favorite books?
With so many, it is hard to pick just one or two favorites. The Celestine Prophecy comes to mind simply because it was so compelling.
What type of books do you like to read?
I have an insatiable appetite for the written word and read most everything that catches my attention. I love spiritual books, well-written novels, cookbooks (I read those like some read novels...lol). My "to read" list grows daily and my bookshelves bulge.
What type of movies or television shows do you watch?
I adore movies, both in the theater and on DVD. I can never claim to be too enlightened for television...lol...
Among my favorites...24 (love that Keiffer!), ER, Six Feet Under (and just between us...don't tell anyone...Trading Spaces!)
I'm not partial to watching the news, preferring to read the newspaper to the often exploitive coverage on television.
What kind of music do you like?
Music is the score by which we live...I'd be lost without it. I love jazz, blues, rock, new age. I don't care for rap or heavy metal but I listen to it often at the hands of my 18 year-old!
What type of foods do you like to eat?
Better to ask what types of food I DON'T like to eat. :)
Since my July 2003 surgery, my tastes have definitely changed (and left me little time to try to change along with them!). While I still long for sweets (when will that ever change?!). I no longer desire red meats and overly processed foods.
Do you consider yourself to be more of a conservative or liberal person?
Definitely a liberal.
What do you like to do for fun?
Listen to music, read, share time with my friends, learn new things
What are some of your interests?
Anything that helps me lead a more fulfilling life.
What achievements in your life are you most proud of?
My 20 year marriage to a wonderful man, my 3 beautiful children, sustaining nuturing friendships. Other than that, I'll have to get back to you as the glory of new days presents new opportunities.

How did you find Reiki and how long have you been involved with Reiki?
I received both Reiki 1 and 2 attunements in the same session in 1999. I did not receive much training and did not really "do much" in the months/years that followed. In October 2002, Reiki found me again and I opened to the energy in previously unexperienced ways.
On July 23, 2003 I had what is now being revealed to me as a near death experience and everything changed. Colors are brighter, the energy is stronger and my learning has just begun.
What style or styles of Reiki do you practice?

What other (if any) healing modalalites have you practiced besides Reiki?
Reiki is my first experience with healing but will, most assuredly, not be the last.

I will be moving on to Reiki 3 training in October 2003. Teaching is something I definitely want to do and, having finally found my new teacher, I look forward to the time when I can help others along this path...just as I have been helped.
