UPDATE: I received my Master attunement on 9-9-2007 (9-9-9) in a beautiful ceremony at Dismal's Canyon here in Alabama. Don't let the name fool you -- it's not "dismal" at all. My 15-year-old daughter also received her Reiki I and II attunement that day. She is a natural healer who, after learning about Reiki and studying my reference material, started practicing it before her attunement. She has the hottest hands I have ever felt!
I have come to this forum in hope of learning from and connecting with those who have practiced and mastered Reiki.
My user name is MasterPeace, but I am not yet a Master Reiki. I recently began attending a Unity church here and they were offering a Reiki class. After my attunement, the Reiki Master and an assisting Reiki practitioner gave me messages they received during my attunement. The practitioner was given the word "Peace", which was very significant to me since I'm a Peace-monger. The Master said when she was doing the attunement she saw that I would be a Reiki Master. She only got this message for me and no one else in class, although I'm sure others will be. I was in class with some amazing people. I think she got it for me, because otherwise I would feel it was beyond my reach. Now, I feel it is my destiny! I thought MasterPeace was appropriate.
This experience was a great surprise for me, because I had never heard of Reiki until I saw the church newsletter. I was interested, but wasn't sure it was for me. The day before the class I had just about talked myself out of going. I was looking online at a web site about personality types and I took a test to tell me my type. I was an empath\highly sensitive person. So true. One of the suggestions for this type of person was to take a Reiki class!!! Can you believe that? Knowing this had to be more than a coincidence, I headed to class the next day and changed my life forever. Thanks to my spirit guides for keeping me on track.
I have a lot to learn, but I'm ready to get started!
